Our Group Search Kit makes large area search and RIT Team operations a safer task. The standard Kit is set up for a four person team providing a lifeline to the outside for each member. For Searching a large area the optional marker system of knots and rings assists in performing a systematic search and prevents duplication of search areas. The knot system assures team members of their location and the exit direction. The rings prevent tag lines from sliding and separating members. RIT operation is also supported with this system. While searching for one of our own we have a tendency to search harder and longer than normal. Each RIT member is not only connected to the outside, but the systems also leads secondary RIT teams to your location for assistance and or supplies. Once the down firefighter is found, the primary line leads you quickly to safety. Our group search Kits contain 100' or 200' or our 3/8" (9.5mm) Kevlar rope with a polyester core. This line has a tensile strength of 7600 pounds and a temperature rating of 862 °F. The kit also contains three 25' tag lines equipped with our 3/8" tubular webbing (5500 pound tensile / 862 °F) in a fire resistant Indura cotton bag. All primary and tag lines come standard with non-locking snap hooks.
